Is your driveway looking worse and worse every year?
Your driveway is exposed to pressures and elements every day, it works hard. Over time the weight of your vehicles, rain fall and snow, erosion and oil leaks can degrade the driveway. Cracks and potholes can make your driveway look very tired and is likely to be killing your curb appeal.
But should you fully replace the driveway or just get it repaired?
Age: If your driveway is asphalt and over 20 years, its time to replace it. Concrete and over 25 years, replace it.
Drainage issues: Often times drainage issues are no big deal and can simply be repaired.
Cracks: Generally, if the crack is less than a quarter-inch wide, you can get it repaired, bigger than that and you’d be smart to just get it replaced. Repairing a large crack is simply a band-aid and will not fix the underlying issue. Water will get in and the crack will come back. Replacing the driveway surface completely is recommended.
